SMMOA Promotes Occult, Booze, Oki-Dogs*

Ouija Board, Ouija Board, Ouija board….Could you work for me? And if not, could I at least scam a few free cocktails and wander over to Track 16?

Vaguely interesting fact about me: I have never tried a ouija board. Is it because I believed all those dungeons-and-dragons-themed tales growing up? Or was I just always in the wrong/right place at the wrong/right time? Either way, following today’s google I have to say I’m more than a bit tempted to try the wine glass/scrabble version at my house.

On Thursday, July 14, 2005, from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Santa Monica Museum of Art presents Automatic Drawing Brought Forth Through the Ouija Board, a project by artist Christian Cummings. The event is free; refreshments are provided by Hpnotiq and FUZE.

Cummings will contact spirits of the deceased through the Ouija Board and channel their drawings. He will be assisted by Michael Decker and Tony Do. Since Fall 2004, Cummings has successfully channeled over 100 spirits, including Walt Disney and Barnett Newman.
