Laker Girls Tryouts: Secrets to Success

Laker Girls tryouts are this Saturday.
Aside from the posted requirements, Paula Abdul wannabes should probably take into account the demographic mix towards which the Laker Girls appear to strive. Take a look at the above photo of last year’s squad and note exactly two short-haired girls, two redheads, two Blacks and two Asians. If you fall into any of these buckets the odds are stacked against you. If you’re a Black/Asian mix with short red hair stay home.
Everyone else should study by watching the made-for-TV movie Laker Girls starring Tina Yothers. I have no idea what the movie’s about but if I had to guess I’d say it would follow the same plotline as My Fair Lady:
A meanspirited Lakers exec bets a colleague that he can turn the homely Tina Yothers into a Laker Girl. It actually works and the dude falls in love with her. She finds out about the bet and tells the guy to fuck off but they get back together in the end.
If you make the final cut, you’ll have the opportunity to jiggle your goods in front of millions and hear the Lakers PA announcer say “LLLLLLLLaker Girls” at the end of each routine in exactly the same tone and cadence as a titty bar DJ announcing a stripper’s name at the end of a dance.

The Laker Girls are required and willingly participate in WEEKLY charity events and appearances, some with the players. They cannot fraternize with the players, and this is a very professional, conservative (L A-style, that is) organization with extremely high standards for talent, fitness, and experience (most members have danced pre-professionally–that means a ballet background, not a cheerleader background)for over 8 years. Most are college GRADUATES. They are paid $100 an hour for appearances, and that’s a great wage, huh? In response to “take a look at the above photo of last year’s squad” I would say these are the only ladies who could actually speak, read, and write the English language.
I’ve been to the Lakers Tryouts over 20 years ago. now it’s probably harder but at the time if you can kick over your head, if you can memorize a dance routine within seconds, the more pirouette you can do the better, a mixture of jazz, modern and every step you can think of, PLUS MORE dance experience you might have a chance. And no you don’t have to be cute, cute means NOTHING. You got to be a fast learner of dance moves, then try out.
You make money on promotional work not cheerleading at the game which I think at that time 20+ years ago, might have been $65.00 a game I think? Remember the players get paid, the girls get gas money
They cuts girls fast in that one day of tryouts. People get out in groups, learn a dance routine, then the next group etc. then they try out soon after making cuts and watching girls drop out and not even try out after not being able to catch on the routine, I saw girls see the routine and leave.
Oh and don’t forget, you competing against the current girls, unless you’re better then they are they are returning to the squad. If they are a favorite of the organization, they aren’t going anywhere leaving less spots open. THOUSAND show up to audition.
Okay, so you do not live in Los Angeles, good, you might have a chance at becoming a NFL football cheerleader. Their routines are as hard as they dance on the greens so there are some limitation plus a lot of team hire if she is cute.
Raiderettes (N. Cali) if you’re cute, high kicks over your head and can somewhat dance, you have a good chance.
Plus they will recommend a plastic surgen for a boob job. I knew the LA physician that did the girls while they were here in LA.

hellow I’m haide I am 19 years old I just heard about this try outs from my older sister, when I was in high school I dd cheerleading about 3 years I’m bout 5 foot 1 and I’m pettite I was a top and dancer as well… I would like too know if my height would matter..also I noticed t said july 23 sat. But the 23rd is friday so when is it?(:
