In the beginning there was Connie Chung. After breaking out on LA’s local news scene, Connie’s rise to national prominence paved the way for the likes of Tritia Toyota, Wendy Tokuda and Sharon Tay. Today, every local TV news team in Los Angeles enforces a strict two Asian minimum. Let’s get to know our current crop of Asian newscasters…

I’m surprised at the many e-mails that berate and insult Mia Lee and would like to say something in her defense.
To begin with, I don’t see that her breast implants or lip augmentations are to be criticized any more than women who whiten their teeth, use make-up or color their hair (or use wigs). Why not use modern methods to add to what nature has already provided? I think she is quite beautiful the way she has become though I would agree darker hair becomes her more.
Secondly, you must admit she is a very animated and emotional person which adds to her beaming personality. Her off the cuff remarks I find quite extemporaneous and also adds to her personality. Her laugh is contagious and sincere.
Overall I find her quite attractive and look forward to seeing her when possible and find most of the negative comments about her rather inane.

This is the most awesomest page on the internet about our newscasters. I visited years ago and always tend to find it somehow (I was looking up newscasters randomly right now).
^^^Anyway, yeah that new girl from NBC 4 (Loresca?) does indeed have huge cans, and I mean, the promo they have doesn’t do her justice. It was only till I caught her live that I was blown away.
I am also amazed these guys start broadcasting at 4:30AM haha.

Again Mia Lee is so hot!! like most news anchor women in California are. i’m Originlly from Ohio and the news anchor women out there we not that pretty. now back to Mia Lee her lipstick is hot, her boobs are almost hypnotic and hard not look at (if your a Guy) her hair is nice as well i think she had blonde hair a long time ago. and she has a very nice sun tan as well.and most importantly when the news goes to break she never stares into the camera like a dufus! that is so annoying! she plays it cool and always looks down..me being and a aspring actor myself i know how important that is ..Go Mia Lee!!
No Matter what anybody says I will always love Mia. As Duke said she has great sex appeal. She was the sexiest thing before and is still pretty hot now.

What has happened to Mia Lee. She looks like a freak! Today she looks like she’s another shade or two darker; more dark than a Hawaiian Tropic model – it only makes her look more freaky then before. I never thought she was hot, but she looked normal before. Now she’s strange looking. I wonder what she was thinking, or what horrible plastic surgeon she went to? It’s sad!
Again, in reading over the many negative comments about Mia Lee ranging from “bobblehead,” to “scary,” “artificial,” “weird,” etc., I was shocked and thought a few comments might be in order here.
Consider: she was only trying to improve her appearance as she faces millions each day. Women from time immemorial have done the same from Cleopatra to the present. How is she different from those many other women using eye shadow, wigs, botox injections, face lifts, tummy tucks, or whatever? To those “purists” who are unhappy with how she looks now, I would say take a second look at her and see if you can deny she is one of the most beautiful newscasters on t.v.
One can’t expect her to look as she did even a few years ago. However, some comments have merit. Comparing how she looked at an earlier age to how she looks now, I would judge she is simply too thin. Her face, arms and legs could be a bit fuller(her breasts need nothing at all!). All she needs is to put on some 5-10 lbs.
If you read this, Mia, I would be glad to cook you some Italian pasta meals to augment your weight. Ah, but I dream, with my eyes open!

What’s with the Elita Loresca fascination? STOP IT! She looks like George Lopez with tits and teeth! Lisa Joyner, Sharon Tay, Leyna Nguyen and Maria Quiban are freaking GORGEOUS. Another beauty that I think has been overlooked is Tricia Takasugi. Her picture above is terrible, but she is actually gorgeous I think.

I want to give a shout out to the new backup weather girl on KCBS/KCAL. Her name is Kimi Evans. I think she is originally from Hawaii. I found an online pic of her and she looks part asian. She is a slice of yellow heaven! She has that girl-next-door sex appeal. I would really like to put my hands in her poi.
Mia Lee was quite striking, especially during that blond hair, fake boobs, blue contacts phase. Unfortunately, she now looks like a BURN VICTIM. I find it very hard to watch her read the news!

Cher Calvin was reporting a story on the 10:00 news about a block from my house a few months back. Went by to check her out. Ask her what’s the deal why she’s a reporter on the news at 10 when she use to be a anchor in the morning? A real step down in a career i think. She said she just does not like to get up that early in the morning. But she was supppose to be the”New it” girl that relaced Sharon Tay. A Long time local Favorite!!! She again gave me the gettin up in the morning line.Oh Well… Now Cheryl Getuiza!!! She is a REAL Cutie!!!!

Mama Mia! Mama Mia! What happened to Mia Lee of KCAL9? Around 2001, I used to watch news on tv, and Mia Lee was my favorite face on tv! She’s got great voice and attractive look. I stopped watching tv for years when news online (internet) took over. I lost track of Mia, but saw her last year on tv. I was surprised to see a different face, I was greatly disappointed. Today, I turned my tv on again and what a horrible sight! Mia, we need your old face back! I feel so bad for you! God bless you!

Yes, she was pretty and cute a number of years ago and now she has a mature beauty that few female newscasters can match. Her excitability and frequent emotional responses to those around her only make her more attractive. She appears more beautiful every time I see her though still a bit on the thin side. Sharon Tay is gorgeous, but not very bright
Mia Lee is the #1 most annoying news reporter by far. Her end of comment mumbling and giggling – sometimes over her own unsolicited comments, are too much. If another local news channel is on I will always choose it if she is on.
