The picture of Morningwood’s singer published in the NYT a few days back has to be the single most unflattering picture of anyone ever.

    You mean this one?

This is the WORST band ever!!!!!
Im serious, dont go!. I usally dont hate on bands but she dances around w/ a pony on a stick…..
    C’mon…
I could see if it was fun, but it’s really annoying!

You HAVE to be kidding, Morningwood truly are the worst band ever. I’ve, unfortunately, seen them twice, opening for, respectively, the Kaiser Chiefs and the Dead 60s. The singer is fat and ugly, and is under the impression that her cleavage is attractive. She can’t (and doesn’t) sing, while her band plays boring, generic, crap music.

I beg of you, go see them at the Roxy, just so you can experience, and truly understand, how horrific they are.

I love that this band is so reviled. I haven’t seen this much united disgust since Jesse Camp.

Nah, Ron, it was in a review of the show they did with We Are Scientists (I think). The NYT archive page doesn’t have the image, sadly.

Pete, I didn’t catch the NYT photo, but this one is hardly flattering either:

Seriously, I have to find this photo. She looks like Roseanne Barr in a little black dress.

    This is some nastiness here:

wow! haters indeed. i’m with you though, Ron. they’re so much fucking fun. i just interviewed Chantel over at decentcontent.com. check it.

Kristine, my morbid curiosity about Morningwood lead me over to your blog, but all I found was a review of manbags.

  11. Posted by Ron 1/26/06 at 10:48 pm #

Kristine–did you ever find out why 8-year old Chantal was on Oprah? I have a sneaking suspicion folks are going to have a field day with the answer.

  12. Posted by Spike 1/26/06 at 11:45 pm #

Kristine, have you ever actually seen them live?

  13. Posted by kristine 1/27/06 at 8:03 am #

no, i haven’t spike. that bad, huh?

and Ron, no. she wouldn’t tell me! she told me to track down her brother and ask him…eek. i aborted that mission.

I don’t hate Morningwood, but I would never want to see them again. Anyone who enjoys disrobing at live shows and grooving to tunes solely about sex and bodily functions will enjoy this. That person is not me.
