will – I’ve always called it Tropi-Cal (rhymes with pal)…i suspect due in no small part to my repressed desire to be a cuban expat. Call it whatever works for you…I also like to call it “that purple joint on the corner where the friends of Bill W. convene”

let me know if you ever try the soup @ Tom’s. what with all the Tom’s Confusion I wasn’t terribly sure as to what I should be ordering. I suspect two Tom’s Tacos for a dollar may be the signature dish at this point.

I’ve lived bascially a half block from there for a year and a half and I’ve yet to set foot inside (although I’ll admit I’ve been tempted to try the allegedly home-made albondigas soup that they’re promoting via a sign on the north side of the place).

But what I really want to know is how you pronounce “Tropical?” Most people I know punch it up as Tropi-CAL (I guess like Carni-VAL a la “carnivale”) but there ain’t no friggin’ “e” at the end of the word, dangit. It’s just tropical, right? Right?

I grew up a block away from there…
It always seemed more like a part of the scenery then an actual establishment, I’d never actually think to go IN there.
