Ask Losanjealous: What Does Tricia Toyota Look Like?
Dear Losanjealous:
As references to the Dickies song out number those to the real person by like a-million-to-one, where CAN a picture! at least, of Tricia Toyota be found?
-Glen
Dear Glen:
On their song (Stuck in a Pagoda With) Tricia Toyota, L.A. punk veterans, the Dickies, sang
A little Asian Goddess came from up above
I thank you NBC for sending my love
And Tricia is the one I’ve been dreaming of
Whether intentional or not, the Dickies misspelled the local TV news icon’s name. It’s actually Tritia with two t’s.
But the Tritia Toyota era ended before the advent of the internets. So even with the correct spelling, googling doesn’t turn up many hits. To satisfy your curiosity here are a couple more pics floating around…

Joanne Ishimine is a little whore
Gonna read it later.
Cool… I always wondered what happened to Tricia Toyota… Dang, however, I didn’t know that she is now in her 60s!!! O.K.,BIG MYSTERY: HOW OLD is KCBS Laura Diaz??? If the hordes are crusing to Internet to scrub Tritia Toyota videos, they must also be crusing the Net to scrub any records or references to Laura Diaz’s AGE!!! Impossible to even find when she graduated from William S. Hart High School! Why the BIG SECRET? Laura looks great. I figure she’s in her 50s?
No she didn’t!
She Played Toyota Kawasaki in the Cheech and Chong Comedy Up in Smoke.
I remember now. John Schubeck was the anchor and Pat Sajack was the weatherman.
What was the name of the news anchor from NY who got a job in LA news in the 70s or later….John ???? He died kind of young as I recall. Joe Namath was the QB for the LA Rams at the time and when Namath saw him he said ” you’re out here too?” By the way the host of some game show was the weatherman also but I can’t remember his name…..Vanna was on the show, that should ring bells.
Don’t even attempt to post any early video clips of Tritia Toyota on YouTube, because rumor has it that she has a virtual army of people working at her behest to have those things taken down the microsecond they get put up there. Who knows why, maybe it’s an Area 51 thing or something, but even a rottweiler doesn’t go after a mailman’s bollocks as fast as the hordes descend on a vintage posted video of Toyota on YouTube! Don’t know why.
Tawny Little, after divorcing Dr. Little. was linked to Burt Reynolds for a while.
I would like to know if she is mariied or not because I think I had dated a wonderful man who happened to to be her husband…..
If anyone, ANYONE, can provide video or just a photo of Tritia Toyota looking at, interviewing, or in the vicinity of Abe Vigoda… I would probably shit my pants.
Well, whatever happened to Joanne Ishimine? She was on about the same time as Connie Chung and Tricia Toyota.
The three of them wanted to start a singing group in the same tradition as the Marvelletes, the Vandellas and the Supremes. They were to be called the Asianettes for some reason. Until Connie felt the name should be changed to Connie Chung and Chinettes. Go figure?
I wonder if she ever got married. Anyone know about that?
Did you hear/see that sharon tay is back on the air with kcbs and kcal. Now if we can only find tawny little.

I’d never heard about Tritia Toyota on KNBC-TV Ch.$ Los Angeles, California, but it’s a classic sign-off edition.

Check out Tritia in 1980. Of all the women I have never met in person, she is my favorite.

I just Wikipedia’d her and I guess she was on Nip/Tuck as well.
Bree Walker was a recurring character on the HBO series “Carnivale”. She played a freak in the freak show….unfortunately for Bree, the show sucked and has not been renewed.
Cool I always wondered what happend to those guys. How about Bree walker?
Speaking of Kelly Lange…
She was with a male newscaster and there was a story about horsemeat being used for McDonald’s burgers in Australia. It was old meat, too. The guy said “speaking of old meat, here’s Kelly with the next story”. You could tell she was pissed, but maintained her composure. Too funny.

Christine Lund’s kids were almost out of high school when she went off the air. That whole family is nuts though, so maybe that had something to do with it…
Dr. George Fischbeck is a volunteer at the
Los Angeles Zoo
I saw her name on the site of UCLA. So, she is now in Los Angeles, California.
Yes, Tritia Toyota is teaching at UCLA. I also had her for a professor but in the Asian American Studies Department. She’s a great professor.
Tritia Toyota is teaching at UCLA in the Asian/American Studies Dept. I had her for an anthropology class here.
Not sure what happened to Tritia. Maybe she’s still stuck in that Pagoda.
But these questions make me feel like an “L.A. Newscasters: Where are they now?” page is overdue.
For years I’ve wondered what happened to George Fischbeck.
I read somewhere that Christine Lund left LA to raise her family in Scandinavia.
So what the hell happened to Tricia Toyota? Why did she leave KCBS?
By the way, do you care that the NBC refrence in that Dickies song was when she anchored the then “NewsCenter 4″ 5 PM and 11 PM newscasts with John “porno mustache” Beard in the very early 80s.
Speaking of femme L.A. newscasters of yesteryear… what happened to Kelly Lange? Will she ever return to the wacky world of L.A. news? Sometimes I see her novels around. I peeked through one once, and quite frankly, nothing to get excited about.
Also, where did Christine Lund run away to?
Jason: She’s probably old and retired by now. She was big in the 70’s and 80’s. She looked to be VERY disciplined and organized.
