First, I know that it may be too late to chime in on the Red Velvet debate, but I have eaten a plenty and baked a few. Therefore, I can honestly say that Phil the Intern needs to learn a thing or two about Red Velvet cakes. As others have commented, this cake is cocoa (sp) base with PLENTY of red dye. I have never eaten a fruit flavored Red Velvet, nor have I baked one.

Oh! I have a very large KitchenAid mixer as well, but I do not intend on getting in any food contest; I will do the tasting though!!!

I always wondered about Phillip's Bar-b-que, but I always ended up going to Woody's. Then, one day my cousing told me to go to Porky's.

I went and took my sister along for support, and we ended up tasting all sorts of side dishes. Note: you are encouraged to do taste testing there. I went to get a couple of ribs, and I walked out with a slab, some dirty rice (not overly spicey with pepper), some potatoe salad, and some greens. This was the day before memorial day, and the following week, my sister had them cater a party at her job.

It is now the day before the 4th of July, and I am own my way up to Inglewood to buy my food from Porky's. I live in Carson, and I will never buy ribs out this way again.

I'm new here. But I'm not sure I can take BBQ reviews from someone who doesn't know what red velvet cake is. Maybe it's because I'm from the south, and my wedding cake was red velvet...

Nope.

BBQ. And red. Velvet. Cake.

JR's actually is the best bbq this side of Austin. You can't beat the links and the upside down cake is so good, you gotta order two. It's really that good.

I love the concept of food being handed out through a little doggie door flap. It seems so...suspicious.
