Win Tickets to Tapes ‘n Tapes @ Echo This Friday

TNT

I don’t know about you, but I’m so over Tapes ’n Tapes. (Almost as over them as I ’m over using “so over” as a verb. And that’s way over.) Yes, I know the Blogosphere is Abuzzâ„¢ about them. Pitchfork gave them a 8.666∞ or something, and they’re being touted as the next Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, who were the next Arcade Fire, who were the next Menswear or something. Well respected blogs such as the NY Times and Guardian UK can’t shut the eff up about them. I mean, they’re OK sure. Their disjointed, manic song structures and singer’s wiry, quavering voice echoing the uncertainty and anxiety of these times we live in. Or something like that. But then they sold out and made a debut record and toured and played to people and stuff.

Speaking of sold out, their show at the Echo this Friday is SOLD OUT, so if you want to win a pair of these hot tickets, send an e-mail right now to tnt-contest@losanjealous.com.

UPDATE: Tickets have been given away and winners have been notified. Plenty more giveaways to come, so stay tuned to this frequency.

Afterwards, you can say to your friend that sees them next time around at a larger place like the El Rey, “I saw them at the Echo. I was into their early stuff.” Then that friend who sees them at the El Rey says to the friend that sees them for the first time at the Wiltern, “I saw them at the El Rey. I was into their early stuff.” Then, that friend who saw them at the Wiltern says to the friend about to see them at the Greek, “I saw them at the Wiltern. I was into their early stuff.” Finally, they peak and hibernate to make their sophomore LP and it all starts all over again. By then, you won’t care because you’ll be way into a 9-piece band from Nashville called Toner Cartridges.

Whittier’s finest Cold War Kids open the show. It is still early enough to get on their bandwagon that you’ll have a solid 6-8 weeks of liking them before you have to ditch them for the next one. Or, to be safe, you can get behind Figurines from Denmark who open the night.
