L.A. Derby Dolls: Fight Crew vs.Tough Cookies @ North Hollywood YMCA
On Saturday June 17, at 4 pm, there will be a Los Angeles Derby Dolls roller derby game between Fight Crew and the Tough Cookies. It’s happening in North Hollywood, at the YMCA. There’ll be food, ladies, possibly fisticuffs, color commentary, etc.

Pasadena Chalk Festival
The world’s largest street painting festival will draw nearly 600 artists from across Southern California, who will use 25,000 sticks of pastel chalk to create spectacular murals on pavement the size of two city blocks! Amazing works of art from every style imaginable, classical to contemporary, whimsical and fantastic to socially relevant, will be created and shown over the course of the weekend.
Screaming Masterpiece @ Skirball
A rare screening of one documentary that truly rocks! Directed by Ari Alexander Ergis, Screaming Masterpiece looks at the Icelandic music scene, from sold-out arenas with Sigur Ros and Bjork, to small Gothic churches for the string and synth work of Johann Johannsson. Bicycle Film Festival
The Bicycle Film Festival, complete with complimentary valet bike parking, kicks off on June 21, 2006 with screenings at The Vine Theater. Known as the largest bicycle related cultural event in the country, the BFF is four days of highlighting shorts and feature films, as well as artists and musicians, celebrating the bicycle in all its various forms and styles.
