Fantasy Island Tours

Mike Brodie @ M+B Gallery
M+B is pleased to present the debut exhibition of 21-year-old photographer Mike Brodie. The Pensacola, Florida native has documented his friends and companions while traveling along the American railways for the last three years. Neckface: The Night after Halloween @ New Image Art Gallery
Guests can interact with Neckface’s characters, presented as life-sized beings through the use of paper-mache and sculptural constructions, in a haunted house installation. A film created by Ty Evans will be shown as well; it features Neckface caught in the act of painting and a brief look at the street art of New York City in 2006. Through Sat 10/21.

Writers Bloc: Michael Tolkin with Stephen Gaghan
“The Player,” a novel and screenplay by Michael Tolkin, is considered to be the ultimate cynical take on Hollywood. Stephen Gaghan, brilliant storyteller about our hyprocritical “war on drugs,” and ineffectual “war on terror” is the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of “Traffic,” and was nominated for the Oscar for his recent film, “Syriana.”

Dennis Hopper screens Viridiana @ Skirball
Hopper has chosen to screen the Luis Bunuel classic Viridiana, a controversial work about a virtuous young nun and the uncle determined to corrupt her.
