FRIDAY

Crispen Glover Presents ‘What Is It’ and More @ Egyptian Theatre
Special evening with Crispen Glover. Preceding ‘What Is It’ will be an hour-long live dramatic presentation of his “Big Slide Show” which features illustration and commentary from eight of his books. Following the film screenings he will appear for Q&A at all shows. Through Sun 12/10.

Naughty or Nice @ thinkspace
Holiday group show featuring new works from 16 of the movement’s hottest young artists, including a large-scale installation from Jaime “Germs” Zacarias in our front gallery. Through Sat 12/23.


SATURDAY

2nd Annual Craftmas Bizarre @ Sugarbutterbex
Buy good gifts and give good gifts from 12 artisans and crafters (everything is Handmade in Los Angeles) and there will be some great performances by the Hilarious Michael Raynor, Steve Silverman’s Holiday Slide Show.

Alive in Los Angeles
Create:Fixate celebrates its five-year anniversary with a themed event entitled “Alive in Los Angeles.” Besides the plethora of visual art from over 30 participants, each artist will create a unique piece expressing the evening’s theme.

Uglycon @ GR2

Dave Eggers @ Hammer Museum
Dave Eggers reads from What is the What, his recent novel about a refugee in war-ravaged southern Sudan.

ING presents the origins of the rainbow – Yellow @ Machine Project
Through eight monthly installments, ing will reveal the origins the rainbow through an original creation myth. All color coded guests will recieve a special prize that will be used during the eigth show.

MONDAY

Clash of the Tetris @ El Cid
Val & Kulap host the last Garage Comedy show of the year. Ryan Flynn is featured. There’s a holiday after party and you can play Tetris all night long.

TUESDAY

LA Phil Free Neighborhood Concert
A free Neighborhood Concert at the Robert Frost Auditorium on Tuesday, December 12 at 8pm. Members of the LA Phil will be conducted by Alexander Mickelthwate and joined by a soprano soloist Hanan Alattar.
