This show was great — the band gets better every time I see them. But I gotta say, I’m still unconvinced about the Echoplex. The space is amazing, but the sound system leaves a lot to be desired. With a better system, this could be one of the best places in the city to see a show, but as things are, it’s pretty underwhelming. Am I alone in thinking this?
Highlight of the show for me was Thermals drummer, Lorin Coleman, having a fan on full blast in his drum set blowing his hair back every second of the performance. Pro move.
That was a fantastic show. Primarily, I think the particular sound guy was a bit lacking at the Thermals show, just judging by the time it took him to get the moniters right.
Funny, I told a friend who was at the show that I thought the soundsystem was fantastic. We were standing in the back and heard everything balanced and clear. Sightline is a problem especially from the back, but that’s always been a problem at the Echo.
