$900/month is outrageously cheap (even for Boyle Heights, I would think). Maybe Losanjealous should open a bar! I’ve got some old glasses!
It’s probably $900/month because it needs at least $5000 worth of work on the inside. Still, I’d drop a couple hundred to help establish a Losanjealous bar.
Alas, Boyle Heights isn’t as safe as it ought to be; take a look at an LAPD crime map sometime with the center at Chavez and Soto. I think you might have to pay off the local gang to keep the place from getting robbed.
Still, there are always small costs to doing business. What do we call the bar? “Losanjealousy,” maybe?

Please open this bar. I can stagger home from this place.
looks like the next “it” bar to me.
A bar would be amazing. Would be great when the gold line extension in completed. Indiana Station. Should be called the losangelounge.
I’ll have to tell my USC duder who’s from East Los about this bar idea. He’d probably put up a few hundred bucks for it as well.
Looks good to me. I’ve got 5 on it.
That place has looked rundown and scary as long as I can remember (at least 20 years). It was on the way to my grandma’s house and I never saw anyone walk in or out.
FYI -
Latin Playboy is not located in the Los Angeles barrio of Boyle Heights but instead located in the neighborhood of Belvedere – Neighborhood of the future City of East Los Angeles.
[...] I posted my initial photo here, the folks at Los Anjealous attempted to rally their readers to take over the bar but it seems no one took up the challenge. Perhaps too many folks think like Curbed readers and [...]
