Girl Talk/Moving Units @ The Palace, I mean Avalon, July 19th. Free Bpm magazine party.

    Rsvp:

Dude, what’s the haps on the M.I.A. show in August? I clicked on the link and the show wasn’t there! AAaargh! I know she’s playing in a tiny place (Ricksaw spot) in the bay area on 7/28. I need to see her (in a non-festival setting). Anyone?!

  3. deens : 7/2/07 at 3:32 pm

MARCH playing in the OC / sat. july 7th @ detroit bar/ costa mesa, ca

  4. Michael : 7/2/07 at 3:57 pm

Like someone said earlier, it appears that M.I.A, is M.I.A.

  5. Bagel : 7/2/07 at 5:21 pm

Alright…did a little investigating and here’s the 411: The Echo is presenting the MIA show @ the venue aforementioned in downtown. It is no longer on the Echo’s website, but, I would periodically check back. This same thing happened with the Girl Talk show on 9/28 at the Echoplex. It disappeared for awhile and then reposted on the website. Good luck!

  6. shenny : 7/2/07 at 8:04 pm

    Upcoming @ Amoeba Records:
Black Lips, Monday July 16th 6pm
The Cribs, Friday July 20th 6pm
Tegan and Sara, Tuesday July 24th 6pm
Patton Oswalt, Wednesday July 25th 7pm

  7. Tommie Moonshine : 7/2/07 at 9:36 pm

Indie 103.1’s FREE concert series at the Hammer Museum is back. It’s “Also I Like to Rock” - a free Indie 103.1 concert every Thursday night in July. First up on July 5th is Great Northern and Foreign Born live. Doors open at 7PM. Cash bar all night. The Hammer Museum is at 10899 Wilshire Blvd in Westwood - corner of Wilshire Blvd and Westwood Blvd.

JULY 05 - GREAT NORTHERN AND FOREIGN BORN
JULY 12 - THE LITTLE ONES AND THE PITY PARTY
JULY 19 - FIELDS AND CASTLEDOOR
JULY 26 - MIDNIGHT MOVIES AND SEA WOLF

  8. Anthony : 7/2/07 at 11:40 pm

M.I.A. better be performing still because i already bought my ticket!

  9. K : 7/3/07 at 12:25 am

Maybe she’s having more visa problems because her music is sooooo controversial.

  10. Renee : 7/3/07 at 10:26 am

Interpol at The Forum - 10/23

  11. shenny : 7/3/07 at 10:46 am

Dude, did The Forum get a new booking manager?! Ugh…good thing I’m seeing them at St. Louis at a much smaller venue.

  12. Robert : 7/3/07 at 11:54 am

NOOOOOOOOOOOo, It’s going to be a wild one in the Hood.

  13. DK : 7/3/07 at 12:00 pm

The Forum? Interpol is great and I want to see them really bad, but the Forum? That place is so big and honestly I think over their heads. The Greek would have been great or the Wiltern for two nights…

  14. shenny : 7/3/07 at 12:36 pm

I would have even been OK with Gibson Amphitheatre. Not only is The Forum too big, but outta the way especially in the middle of the week. I’m not sure if I wanna suck it up and go or not go all together. The Forum must be enticing bands (Muse, White Stripes, Interpol) with super super low rental rates and/or greater % of profits. Meh and to think, I remember complaining when they were gonna play Grand Olympic Auditorium.

  15. Anonymous : 7/3/07 at 11:20 pm

Old news by now, I guess, but the Beastie Boys added a show at the Greek on Sunday the 19th, with tickets on sale Thursday 7/5. Conflicts with Sunset Junction, of course, and the Buzzcocks night too. Bummer.

  16. K : 7/4/07 at 1:16 am

    Another free, secret show:

Spoon will be playing a secret show in Los Angeles on July 16th!

On July 10th at Amoeba Music in Hollywood, the first 150 people who purchase Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (CD or LP) will recieve a coupon from Merge Records that admits you to this very special (and secret) 21 and over show!

*One Ticket per CD Purchased. The coupon will explailn how to register with them to attend the show. Quantities are limited to the first 150 CDs/LPs purchased - while they last!

  17. Pete : 7/4/07 at 2:48 am

Aw dammit, I’m gonna be in Chicago then. Oh well, at least I’ll get to see the Decemberists (backed by an orchestra, natch) for free in Grant Park.

  18. Anonymous : 7/6/07 at 10:51 am

Hey, anybody heard a rumor about the Buzzcocks playing at Spaceland the Friday before Sunset Junction? Any idea when those tickets would be going on sale?

  19. Oscar : 7/6/07 at 11:57 am

There’s always a band from Sunset Junction that plays Spaceland the Friday before. They’ll probably go on sale when all the bands are announced. Anyone going to see Interpol at the Natural History Museum? Paul & Sam are DJing.

  20. deens : 7/6/07 at 12:28 pm

MARCH tomorrow night at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa.

  21. Oscar : 7/6/07 at 2:18 pm

    April March?

  22. Jenn : 7/6/07 at 3:11 pm

8/10: Great Northern, The Comas @ Spaceland
8/16 & 8/17: The Veils @ Hotel Cafe (tix on sale now for 8/16, not sure about the 2nd night)
10/7: Turbonegro @ Henry Fonda Theatre (tix on sale 7/7)
11/14: Suzanne Vega @ The El Rey (presales start 7/9)

  23. Jenn : 7/6/07 at 3:19 pm

Editors @ Jimmy Kimmel has been changed to Wed 7/25 and there’s also Maximo Park the same night in the indoor stage.

  24. Jenn : 7/6/07 at 7:00 pm

    Greek Theatre shows:
    9/20 Damien Rice
    9/21 Air

  25. Ryan : 7/7/07 at 7:46 am

the spoon secret show on july 16 is @ little radio, with john vanderslice, if that wasn’t already public knowledge.
