Eye On Lunch: Whole Foods Parking Lot Burger Guy “Just Flipping It” For Duration Of Summer

LOSANJEALOUS (Losanjealous):: One of our hundred-dozen field reporters sends in these topical, in-the-moment photos of the Whole Foods Parking Lot Burger Guy™ happily sizzling the flesh at the always popular 3rd and Fairfax lot, where he’ll be serving burgers with all the trappings (including Metro 217 exhaust) from 12 to 6pm daily for the duration of the summer.
$5 in the parking lot (tax inclusive) gets you one half-pound burger, two sides (typically fresh fruit, coleslaw or potato salad), the uncomfortable stares of an unwashed veggie-shopping army, the unholy screeching of diminished brake pads, four body odor-enhanced requests for spare change, one napkin, one fork and complimentary exhaust fumes. Burger choices include ground beef, turkey, jalapeno, or cowboy (replete with onions, peppers, cheese, tomatoes). “It’s like a whole meal inside of it,” quoth Sarab, pictured above.

i had one. they’re really good. cross my heart.
They do look good. How’s the traffic in that part of town predicted to be for 7-4?
Traffic at fairfax and 3rd is a solid 9, seven days a week.
any word on what that caution tape is all about? is it to warn vegetarians? CAUTION: cute former cow with long eyelashes being roasted. or is it just, CAUTION: you’re about to eat something really fucking delicious! get ready!
do they do this at other whole foods?
The burgers are indeed delicious; too bad they don’t have any fries.
I can attest that I have never seen such a character at the Whole Foods in Pasadena. He would get much more business if he offered a meat alternative!
