After the show last night, I turned to a friend and said, “I have honestly not been this happy since I saw Daft Punk at Coachella”. To some that may sound sad, but I can assure you it’s not. It’s almost like Daft Punk takes you somewhere where no other musical act can.

Granted, I have had the pleasure of seeing many awe-inspiring performances, spanning many different musical genres over the years, but the combination of Daft Punks stage set-up, lighting, and their deft hands at the craft of creating dance music makes them the grand champions of this genre.

I’ve lived in L.A. all my life, and there have honestly only been a few times that I have seen a Los Angeles crowd that happy…dancing that hard. Whether it be Daft Punk, the drugs, or the overall gathering of the “decent” people in L.A. that creates the experience, you can’t deny the fact that anytime something that magical happens, you know you will never forget it.

    How was Ratatat?

ratatat, was good, but slightly pre-recorded, which makes some sense considering how some of their songs are put together.

In terms of analogies thought i’d say daft punk is more like ferryboat ride through charlie’s choclatte factory, dangerous and fun at the same time.

absolutely the most amazing show i have ever seen. from beginning to end it was an intense, non-stop sound and visual phantasmagoria. ratatat also played an awesome set, so did sebastiAn and kavinsky. justice at the fonda on october 9th!!

I know someone who went who didn’t notice there was a pyramid. Does that sound possible? The pyramid looks pretty hard to miss.

I was lucky enough to score two tickets the day of the show. It was really mind-blowing how the GIANT PYRAMID kept lighting up and you kept thinking: “man, there’s no way that can get any cooler” (it did). The end was amazing and it shows how much the duo loves their fans to put that kind of effort into the show.

I’m in my mid 20’s and everyone else there seemed so much younger. The songs were the usual favorites with a bunch of their new stuff but every single song had a lighting motif.

Highlights (literally and figuratively) included “Around the World,” the mash-up of “One More Time/Around the World,” and “Human After All.”

Ratatat was actually decent (too much riffing though) and the DJ’s before the main show kept it funky (but went a bit too long).

Daft Punk was amazing! It more than made up for the fact I missed their Coachella show last year. The encore was the best – their robot suits lit up like Christmas trees! Those guys know how to put on a show!

I have to agree with Greg. I was extremely happy at this show.Take all the shows I’ve been to and wrapped them up into a nice sound burrito, can not even compare to how freaking Amazing Daft Punk is live! I was in a complete Music and Dance High the whole time they performed.I didn’t think I would be able to go but I was able to get a concourse seat the day before. When the theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind opened the show , I knew the Robots had landed and were going to take me on their Daft Ship.
Hands down, one of the best moments of my life.
And yes, it felt like a Koala shitting rainbows in my Skull. Sean, perfect words! ;) !!

When they played AROUND THE WORLD…and the lights around the stadium lit up…that was amazing…everyone was on their feet…FLOOR to the LOGE to CONCOURSE…everyone was a robot at the time.

There show will change your life, everyone who missed out have your friend kick you in the balls.

On another note, I just got back from seeing them @ there last show Vegoose. Still amazing but LA takes the cake, I think the pitch dark indoor environment and only 2 other performing acts that warmed the crowd up for Daft made the energy level sky rocket. I was front center 30 feet from the robots and there alien space craft, every second they play all that keeps repeating in your head is “OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!”

    -Can I get an amen…

    P.S.

props to that crazy ass crowd of kids me and my brother ended up with. If you ended up chanting Da Funk on the front center floor and mett the “Smith Bro.s” we need to go to another show. Killa B [Brendon] we’re looking for you.

Where we at, hey, where we at.
