Bush’s America, any photograph used in any context, regardless of ownership or public domain status, must be attributed to the appropriate copyright owner, even if the owner and the user are the same individual. Penalties for failure to self-cite include extraordinary rendition, waterboarding, and/or watching endless tape loops of John Ashcroft performing Christian ditties a capella.

This has given rise to an extensive, and lucrative, body of work in the growing field of self-suing, where individuals come blazing at themselves with a full legal arsenal. I recently recovered a massive sum on behalf of my client for infringement by that same client. The client was both bankrupted and made rich in a single day, and I earned a handsome fee in the process.
