Dublab: Secondhand Sureshots Preview Screening

The Norman Lear Center’s Popular Music Project invites you to a preview screening of the new Dublab documentary Secondhand Sureshots: an experiment in creative sound recycling, which features four amazing, LA-based beat makers – Daedelus, J.Rocc, Nobody and Ras G on a secret mission to create new musical magic from dusty thrift store vinyl. Live sample and mix session with Secondhand Sureshot star Ras G. Audience members are encouraged to bring and offer up surprise sounds on vinyl for the mix. RSVP for this event here.

“ENCOUNTER POINT” Screening And Discussion @ SMC
Santa Monica College is proud to present the award-winning documentary film “Encounter Point,” which follows a group of Israelis and Palestinians who risk their lives to promote a nonviolent end to the longstanding conflict between the two peoples. The screening, followed by a Q&A session led by the director Ronit Avni, will be begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 in SMC’s Art Complex Room 214, 1900 Pico Blvd. The event is free, as is parking.
