		<description>Being the son of a Gainesville native and having made many a visit to the city and its surroundings as a lad, I can state with some certainty that calling it &quot;East Coast&quot; is a pretty dubious misnomer.  It may apply in the broadest geographic sense--note, though, that Gainesville is well inland from both of Florida&#039;s coasts and actually has &lt;i&gt;hills&lt;/i&gt;--but culturally it is the southernmost bulwark of the Deepest South.

Or, as Baltimore native Cex memorably put it, &quot;Florida (Is Shaped Like a Big Droopy Dick for a Reason).&quot;</description>
