I hate the way you write. Reading your articles almost seems like a joke. I’ve never read such a snobbish self important reviewer. Who wants to read some dumb jerks account of shows you’re interested in? Not me Dan… not me.

Very cleverly written (“like if a hobbit fucked an elf” (LOL) — Christof may be taking you off his Christmas card list) — thought the bands were all excellent considering the myriad sound problems. Too bad a place like Pappy and Harriet’s can’t hire competent knob turners. Would never hear “Too Much Too Think About” as a dirge — more like a mesmerizing psychefunkadelic juggernaut. “The crowd was full to bursting with girls in faux-fur jackets and little house on the sixties dresses” — I didn’t experience a bursting crowd and seemed to miss these girls — a real shame that there weren’t more people there to enjoy some criminally unrecognized bands. Had a great dinner, met some wonderful people, and the bartendress could not have been sweeter. “The Legend of God’s Gun” is really a unique work. Hope these bands will all be back for something like “Clean Air, Clear Stars.” I’d be there in a second.

Okay, now I feel wayyyyy better.

I’ve thought about it a bit, and if I’m going to go on record dissing a band I might as well go all the way. What I actually said was: “Those guys probably spent so much time on their outfits that they forgot to practice. I’ve seen people who’ve never even met before pull off better versions of those songs sitting around a campfire. Also, would a little originality have killed them? Nice threads, though.”

I just want to be hated for the right reasons. Is that too much to ask?

I kinda sorta said it would be okay, because what I said was true, but I didn’t say nothin’ about using my name, which is already linked in many people’s minds with slander, libel and general rudeness.
