And Speaking of Beck…

By Ryan - Thursday June 12th 2008

BekHe’ll be at the Echoplex this Friday. Sorry for the delay in posting this info; I’ve been up to my waist in mother nature and while she’s beguiling, she does tend to interfere with the important shit like checking the Blackberry and posting Los Angeles ticket on-sales. Becktix™ went on sale at 5pm today and are already sold out over at Ticketweb. However, according to the email blast:

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the night of the show on a first come, first served basis for $25 CASH.

UPDATE 6/13:
Show cancelled. Again. Becklash forthcoming as direct result of (now weekly) Bechoplex chain-yank.

Line up now for the chance to see everybody’s favorite refreshingly low-key Scientologist at the Echoplex this week. Will Nigel Godrich join him on stage again like he did in November? Show up, find out, let us know.

i think it’s REALLY weak that those of us who were lucky enough to get tickets for the last-minute cancelled echo gig last week will NOT be honored for this show

(i was out of the house when this went on sale, and now im bitter and ticket-less)

tickets for this show would be so sweet!! imma try to get them. i love beck and how his music is so progressive, it really moves me. though, has anyone heard that there is a buzz on the web about amma, the hugging saint. she is going to la next week to hug people and give them her blessings. turns out that she is violating a boycott and that is not making hotel workers hapy. anyways, this is huge imho.

Can anyone out there in the field confirm whether or not there’s a line already? I showed up at 3pm to get my tix last time.

robert – this true? Sad state of affairs, if so. Smart money would predict a serious LA becklash if he continues with the weekly echoplex chain-yank.

Maybe Beck should do a free show for all the people who’ve been burned. He looks more like Amy Winehouse when he cancels all the time. Although if you’re a Beck addict, you can probably overlook anything. But for people with jobs & schedules, Beck is radioactive.

Heard Beck was sick, so I’d like to retract that.

I’m hesitant to buy that, the gig was announced one day prior. But admittedly, I’m bitter having diligently formatted an entire blog post for a no-show.
