It was very impressive that they were able to replicate the sound of space shuttle launch – but what was the point? I thought it was just a crescendo, but after 5 minutes it had more than lost any meaning. That’s when I left the building. As I waited outside for the audio masturbation to cease, I was amazed to hear various parts of the OUTSIDE of the building vibrating/shaking. The noise had to go on for at least 15 minutes. It was the loudest noise I’ve ever heard at a concert – and I’ve been to A LOT of shows, including seeing them in 1991. I had waited 16 years to see them again and after that blatant assault on their own fans, I could care less of they ever tour again.

They have to be the most overrated band on the planet. Nothing but gimmicky noise on top tuneless songs that go nowhere. I’ve tried so many times to get into them but it just aint happening.

At least Jesus and Mary Cahin and Cocteau Twins had actual TUNES underneath the noise.

Umm the set was more than the epic 20min finale of You Made Me Realize. You two seem to forget the amazing hour and half that preceded it. Best show of all time.

Barney…are you basing your statement on seeing them live or just listening to their albums. Sounds like you didn’t go to the show. Doesn’t matter as it’s all opinion. I’ll take Belinda’s buried vocals over Fraser’s annoying yelping any day. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. Nothing wrong with that.

I went to both shows and loved every minute of it (with my 32 DB reducing Hero Earplugs…absolutely no post show ear ringing). Night one on the floor and night two seated in the very back row of the seats (center) so I could take in the entire audio/light assault as one.

Check out a couple great reviews of the show HERE.

LECBOT did you really consider those reviews great or is that your blog?

who goes to a MBV show NOT expecting their ossicles, or their sternum, to be rattled vigorously? and it was hilarious to to see the “gracious” CSC security guys completely bewildered. my only complaint is with the echoey cave that is samo civic; it has the worst acoustics of any venue i’ve attended except for a quonset hut.

Lecbot, those reviews are anything but “great.”

One even ends the review with, “I hope all you dickshits never see again.” Those are some extraordinary writing skills right there.

Naw, the reviews are jokes on that link. I think one is real but the third one is a review of a guy who thought he was seeing My Chemical Romance haha
