WHAT a douche response to a fledgling business. Now I don't want to confuse anyone reading this, but I am an east coaster and not at ALL a fan of LA (here for work), but I had to work in restaurants throughout college and for someone to just down the place automatically is pure douchebaggery. I guess the person writing has only had burgers made with kobe beef and marinated in angel tears! The place is NEW. It is open later than the rest of the businesses here. They are trying and expanding slowly. For those of us who are repulsed by Mexican food, it is a fair alternative (and right across the street from my place.) Much like the reviewer, I could wax poetic about the benefits of having an eatery in downtown, but I will not. I guess I should have been there during the reviewer's formative years when he was learning to walk, and screamed at him ‘you SUCK at walking’.

Those fries look pretty pathetic but as far as HFCS goes, c'mon, they've got an ad campaign - it's just like sugar teehee. As for umami burger, i dig the name. It makes me want to say "one umami burger please, hold the mayo."

And there are a gangload of BKs downtown. too many in fact.

In downtown, we beggars can't be choosers. When a new place opens, we have to give a chance.

I don't think they promised anything better than a fast food experience, and I think they delivered. It wasn't awful, it just WAS. Mediocre but cheap.

Still, we need it here since we only have 2 McDonald's left, no Burger Kings, no Jack in the Boxes, no Fatburgers and no In-N-Out.
