Have you heard the big news? Metallica’s Kirk Hammett has selected “One Thousand Tears of A Tarantula” by our own Dengue Fever for his Decade’s Best Song List for Rolling Stone magazine. The track comes in at #2 just behind his #1 “Everything In It’s Right Place” (the selection of which by the metal axe god Hammett in itself raises its own curiosity).
Hammet’s full list for RS below.

Good to see Afroman made the list as well.
[...] Really, Isn’t this just the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen? (LosAnjealous) [...]
If Kirk can drum up some exposure for DF, my favorite Los Angeles/Long Beach-based ’60s Cambodian Khmer pop group named after a debilitating disease, power to him. The list is all over the map but clearly he had some fun with an inclusion or two (Afroman, I do not believe for an instant). Would that more list-compilers would do the same; best-of lists are so overblown at this point. Hell, Stereogum invigorates its base by reposting everybody ELSE’s lists these days, from what I can tell. (Occasionally I’m glad they do, because no way would I actively go seek out a bunch of “best of” lists from the publications themselves.)
