Arctic Monkeys***Recommended Show of the Week***
Arctic Monkeys @ Spaceland
Arctic Monkeys shot to the top of the UK singles charts with their debut track, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, due in large part to grassroots internet buzz. This is an impressive feat considering that the Beatle’s debut single, Love Me Do, only made it to #17 and that Arctic Monkeys spend their Winters bathing in the mountain hot springs of Nagano, Japan. Catch the hype Friday night at Spaceland.

    Wow, are they ever overrated.

The Spaceland show is sold out. I predict they wash out in the States (that single is too garagey and tuneless for us) and ruin it for the wave of good new UK bands that come after them.

Overhyped UK bands are a cornerstone of indie rockdom. You tried to get tickets, admit it.
