Tips, feedback, questions, & submissions:
great shots Lindsey, love these guys. they sounded great @ jazzfest. Once and for all though, jesus christ is it “Kings of Lee-on” or “Kings of Lay-Own”? Need to put this to rest. Maybe we set up a poll right here on LJ, let the readers vote on their preferred pronunciation and then submit it to the band as fact.
this is a band i REALLY wanna see live. i love all their albums. oh, and sweet pix yo!!
Thanks both of you!
Ryan, I am pretty sure it’s pronounced “Lee-on”, haha! Poll sounds like it could be funny, though!
dudes, it’s lee-on!!!! wot, where do you get this lay-on from?!?!?
dudes, it’s lee-on!!!! wot, where do you get this lay-on from?!?!?
hahaha, yeah, i have never heard lay-on before either.
No joke, I say lee-on but I hear lay-own all the time from all angles, which then makes me not want to participate in the conversation for possible lack of knowing how to pronounce the damn band’s name.
Suddenly starting to wonder how V and S pronounce this word.
haha!!
sorry, ryan, i didn’t see your query until now. i’ve only heard it pronounced lee-on. if you’re still not confident you can always call them KOL.
Curiously, it’s pronounced Kings of Meh-on”. Could be a southern thing.
Hope this helps!
Still waiting for V’s pronunciation.
LEE-on. The band name is a tribute to their grandfather named, oddly enough, Leon. This is how it was pronounced when they were introduced on SNL anyhow. Must be all them Frenchies that Ryan consorts with going around saying “LAY-own.”
Let us talk pronunciation no longer and focus now on the Univ of Oklahoma football helmet, respect:
