“Wanna tell you a story
About the house-man blues…”

George Thorogood And The Destroyers have returned to Capitol/EMI for the July 28th release of The Dirty Dozen, a scorching new blues-rock album pairing six new studio recordings with six classic fan favorites, including three popular tracks that were previously out-of-print in the U.S. Thorogood And The Destroyers will travel to more than 30 U.S. cities this summer on a tour that includes 22 co-headlining dates with Jonny Lang.

Lordamercy. I caught former minor-league baseball player George Thorogood (&TD) at New Orleans Jazzfest a couple years back, 2007 I believe it was. Guy is still on top of his bad-to-the-bone game, believe it, sleazy, loud, bluesy, boozey, check, check, check, check, on top of it captain. Pointing out photos of blues legends he’d jammed with before they departed, check. Leching on the women, check, wagging tongue and speaking in sexually perverted manner, check, sporting karate headband, check. Bad to the bone, captain. He killed it and the tent was capacity-packed. Don’t miss this show, especially considering I am giving you a chance at free tickets right here. Need your first and last name for a chance at a pair; contest ends Thursday end of day. Finally, Nederlander is probably going to blacklist me for saying this, but if you feel the urge, smuggle in your own custom mini-bar or double-flask, just so’s you can take a shot of bourbon, a shot of scotch, and a swig of beer each and every goddamn time he sings those words in his nu-standard, now-standard 1977 Elizabethan-play-in-a-trailer-park update of that John Lee Hooker staple. “And out the door I went.” Jonny Lang opens.

UPDATE, 7/23:
George will also be at Guitar Center performing, speaking and presumably occasionally leering, free to the public, Monday eve (7/27):
