Even while mostly dormant these days, with each passing year, Rage seems to somehow climb a notch on the list of the most important Los Angeles bands of all time. On a given day, I might throw Love, N.W.A., Beach Boys and then maybe them and maybe Beck in an LA Top 5.

Hmmm, I might put The Doors above Beck. Taking into account longevity and total body of work I’d consider Sparks as well.

I agree on Sparks. Sparks should mount a campaign to remind everyone that they are in fact a Los Angeles band. I think many probably identify with them as a U.K. act. We can make it a dual campaign to also make everyone forget that Eagles are an LA band at the same time. Eagles must never enter this discussion, along with our overrated hometown trio of Jane’s, G’NR & Chili Peppers, who have maybe about 12-15 great songs between all 3 of them.
