Was at Knitting Factory last night (wife’s a huge Over the Rhine fan) and saw a cancelled notice up over Prefuse73. And I just checked the Knitting Factory site – CANCELLED.

Thanks for the tip, Jimmy. What is going on with the Knitting Factory cancellations?

The Knitting Factory seems to have a very strict booking policy. ONE GOOD SHOW A MONTH!

Once a month sounds about right. Let’s not forget that the Knitting Factory is a chain–maybe not as bad as the Old Spaghetti, Cheesecake or Burlington Coat Factories, but a chain nonetheless. And every time a business adds another link to their chain they lose a part of their soul.

Speaking of the Knit, my duders in Brilliant Red Lights are playing there on Sunday the 28th. After a long day of watching people drive in circles, I think spastic art-punk is exactly the ticket.

Editor tickets are still available. I suggest getting them before KROQ plays them and they’re sold to bandwaggoners. Surprisingly, Bloc Party isn’t sold out yet.
