World Chili Cheese Fries Eating Championship
The nation’s top competitive eaters will converge at the historic Queen Mary for the Queen Mary World Chili Cheese Fries Eating Championship. Chestnut will no doubt want another chance at this weighty title and the generous purse offered by the Queen Mary.

SUNDAY

Ambient Haircut @ Betalevel
Last month, we tried having Ambient Haircut on the westside at the ArtLA fair. We were cutting hair, droning away… and as Warren Beatty walked by, he gave us a deeply puzzled look. Don’t you want to be in the kind of situation where if Warren Beatty were to walk by, he would give *you* a puzzled look?

Maker Faire Auditions @ Machine Project
Tryouts for MAKE Magazine’s Maker Faire will be held at Machine from 1-4pm on Sunday, February 18th. It’s like Dorkbot, but with a history of electric giraffes.

Noted authors David Mamet and Howard Norman come to Dutton’s Brentwood to sign their most recent works: Bambi vs. Godzilla and Devotion, respectively.

Harlem Globetrotters @ Staples Center
Legends of the court who have never lost a game. Curiously, the “Globetrotters” are also appearing in New Jersey the same day, so hopefully we don’t get stuck with the “B” team out west. Watch for that one move where it looks like he’s going to shoot the ball, but doesn’t.

TUESDAY
