These New PuritansThese New Puritans are a group of four 19-21 year olds (two of which are twins) from Southend, UK. Recorded alongside producer Gareth Jones, the songs on their debut Beat Pyramid are a mutating blur of brash chords, subtle details and taut rhythms, born of influences as varied as Sonic Youth and dubstep, This Heat and Greek pottery, David Lynch and Dr. Feelgood, J Dilla and John Dee. They are doing something different to many young rock bands in that their songs involve complex elements and clever themes and yet they still manage to resonate quickly with audiences…”
