Congratulations, President-Elect Obama!

Suffice say the Century City Hyatt, home of the official Obama for America party in Los Angeles, was off the hook Tuesday evening. As to the Presidential election results, we simply could not be more thrilled, blown away, moved, joyous, or compelled at this time. You name it, we felt it Tuesday night. Truly, history was made.
President Obama: Congratulations. Let’s do this.
Los Angeles: Congratulations. Let’s do this.
California: Congratulations. Let’s do this.
The United States of America: Congratulations. Let’s do this.
The Watching World: Congratulations. Let’s do this.
Victor: Regrettably, I was unable to procure one of those gigantic-ass balloons for posterity as requested.
PostScript, speaking of balloons. I cried just before the balloon drop during that “106-year-old” speech. Who wouldn’t.

Wow, this event must have been simply amazing! I tried to make it in but was shut down by the fire marshalls. Was so close to getting in!
It was pretty fantastic, Tawnya. But hey! If you made it to any of the Flaming Lips Yoshimi shows back in 2002, you prettymuch already got last night’s vibe (rampant hugging of strangers, confetti galore, giant balloons being volleyed)…just add a new president and hilarious holographic CNN coverage to the mix. (N/B: I have no doubt Wayne Coyne would have liked to have incorporated both of those final elements into the 2002 tour as well, were it in any way feasible.)
The fire marshalls also didn’t appreciate 300-some attendees briefly turning the stage into Dance Party USA.
Thanks for the fantastic visual Ryan! :)
