True story: I tried a karaoke version of said Genesis tune at the Zebra Room a few months back and found it to be blatantly, unabashedly boring to perform live. Literally bored myself to tears with that one. That’s what I get for straying from Heart and Gloria E. Always the same; it’s just a shame, that’s all.
Makes sense. Scientifically speaking, if a band’s entire existence is questionable, then would follow that all offshoot derivations from said band–be they karaoke or cover versions–must themselves be questionable. This is science. Like some heavy Einstein equivalence principle shit.
Stop baiting the prog-geeks for a lengthy discussion on the merits of the gabriel-inclusive, fugue-laden, non-bald-non-dockers-and-braided-belt-wearing early years.
I think the Clare and the Reasons cover is amazing! I love it! Great arrangement and performance.
