To Do or Not To Do Tonight: Festivus Party, V Lounge, Santa Monica

By Losanjealous - Thursday December 10th 2009

FestivusWith some hesitation, we’ll go ahead pass this one along for tonight, if only for the classic Seinfeld reference. We are dubious about most anything with a $30 door cover that apparently does not include drinks or a real band playing. They do, however, claim that proceeds will benefit Good Dog Animal Rescue. If you do go, please do press them on what percentage of that $30 consitutes “proceeds”.

It’s going on at the V Lounge over on Wilshire in Santa Monica.

Details at 80spromparty.com/festivus. Some press release text below.

Happy Festivus everyone! Festivus for the rest of us!!

The original holiday includes novel practices such as the “Airing of Grievances”, in which each person tells everyone else all the ways they have disappointed him or her over the past year. Also, after the Festivus meal, the “Feats of Strength” are performed, involving wrestling the head of the household to the floor, with the holiday ending only if the head of the household is actually pinned. While this may get us kicked out of most public venues, we’ve adjusted OUR tradition to include the following:

1) Attendees must dress in their ugliest holiday sweater. If you don’t have anything sufficiently ugly, feel free to dress in 80s attire.

2) Proceeds for the Human Fund: Money For People will make its way to Good Dog Animal Rescue (100% of proceeds will support charity).

3) In keeping with the 80s Festivus theme, we will have an 80s tribute band.

What now?
