Win Tickets to Hurra Torpedo at The Roxy

Hurra Torpedo

Self-described rather accurately as the “world’s leading kitchen appliance rock group,” Hurra Torpedo are a three-piece that has to be seen to be believed. Even after seeing them, you still may not believe them. Some kind of unholy mix of rock n’ roll, performance art, Gallagher and Blue Men Group, these guys are legends in their native Norway, playing to thousands at festivals and even inspring their own documentary.

As you can see, actual kitchen appliances serve as percussion for the Hurra. Washing machines, stoves, refridgerator freezers and toasters, among other things, receive all manner of punishment with a variety of blunt instruments, all while keeping the beat. (For kicks, check out their actual tour rider here.)

Their breakout moment was their 1995 cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” which you can watch here.

Courtesy of The Roxy, losanjealous has pairs of tickets to see Hurra Torpedo this Saturday, June 24. E-mail us with your full name to enter the drawing to win.
