Cursive will also be playing at UCLA on 1/11 and UCSD on 1/12 but don’t know if they are student only shows.

Last year Sunset Rubdown played after Coachella, so now I’m hoping Spencer pulls double duty with Wolf Parade and Swan Lake at Coachella

Roscoe – You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Many thanks.

(Don’t tell Ron, but I’m switching off the XM in our lobby ["Watercolors" - channel 71 - smooth jazz] and putting this on the Bose right now.)

    Hey LosAnjealous:
wouldn’t it be cool to have an official (Confirmed Artist to Play) Coachella list. This would only consist of artist that we know that are definitely playing Coachella . Every year there’s always the speculation as to what bands are playing. Here we can list them, along with the source that they are scheduled to play Coachella.

Hey did anyone notice the songs on the lobby radio are less smooth and jazzy?

  10. Posted by Pete 12/11/06 at 7:43 pm # Reply

Jeff Porcaro died of a cocaine-induced heart attack. Gee, never would have seen that coming from a member of Toto, no sir.

The Against Me/Bronx show on Thurs. has been moved to the Key Club!

Is there some benfit concert at Cinespace on Wed with BRMC, BJM and Jimmy Gnecco? It’s not on their site, but Jimmy announced it at his Monday night show.

Thanks for the great tips all around. Steven mailed in a couple more: Camera Obscura at the El Rey on 2/17 and Grizzly Bear at the Troubadour on 2/21.

FYI, the Safari Sam’s special guests for next Tuesday (Dec 19th) are OK Go, Rocket, and Siren’s Sister.

  17. Posted by Ron 12/16/06 at 12:54 pm # Reply

This is probably a make up show for when OK Go cancelled to do the VMAs earlier this year. Unless they’re bringing the treadmills on tour I’m not sure how this is any more special than other shows.

  18. Posted by Jenn 12/17/06 at 1:58 am # Reply

the possibility of other “special guests” would be sweet. but there is a difference between this and their previously scheduled september show — before, they weren’t nominated for a grammy — yet it’s still a $5 show.

  19. Posted by Ron 12/17/06 at 11:11 am # Reply

You want a grammy? I can get you a grammy, believe me. There are ways, Jenn. You don’t wanna know about it, believe me. Hell, I can get you a grammy by 3 o’clock this afternoon… with engraving. These fucking amateurs…

  20. Posted by Jenn 12/17/06 at 1:06 pm # Reply

Hey, I’m just stating the facts Ron. I don’t give a damn about a fucking grammy. Relax. Happy holidays.

  21. Posted by Ron 12/17/06 at 5:47 pm # Reply

Jenn, that wasn’t directed towards you. As residents of this fair city it is our duty to quote freely from the greatest LA movie of all time, The Big Lebowski.

  22. Posted by Ron 12/18/06 at 1:17 pm # Reply

Presented by the Guacamole Fund. Of course.

  23. [...] Jeff: Have you seen the Big Lebowski yet? [...]
