PICK OF THE WEEK: Midnight Movies @ Viper Room

Sometimes you have to get out of town to be reminded how good you have it at home. Case in point, LA’s own Midnight Movies. Saw them gettin’ it done at SXSW and came away feeling spoiled by the ease we can see a quality band like them on a regular basis. Catch them before they hit the road with the mighty Blonde Redhead.

Theres a secret show tonite in hollywood. I don’t know who but I know it’s in a small venue and it’s at 10:30pm. maybe someone can help out on this one w/ some detective work.

I’m drawing a blank kid. It’s probably a Fashion Week show. Usually those are at the Avalon or somewhere in Culver City. You never know.

According to O’Riordan’s MySpace page, nothing is scheduled on her calendar in the next three days (until Barcelona on the 29th), so it’s possible.

I live like 5 min from Hotel Cafe and checked it out. The special guest was Alexi Murdoch. who I would happily pay 10 bucks to see. but, just saw him there saturday, so we punted. Drove by the Virgin store and there was a line all the way pass the Chinese Theatre for the Mika instore. I guess the Verizon commercial spot is working.
