venue/cost update on tonight’s earlimart/pity party show, direct from the pity party’s email list (thanks shane)….

    ——————–
dear ticket holders and potential ticket buyers,

if you are planning to see the pity party open for earlimart at the
jensen recreation center, pay close attention to this email. THE
    VENUE HAS BEEN CHANGED.

due to regulations with the fire control, the show has been moved to
the ECHOPLEX, downstairs at the echo. not only did the show get moved
underground, but the price of the ticket went down to just SEVEN (7)
    dollars. that’s right! that’s $8 cheaper.

so if you didn’t have a reason to see us before, now you do.

    TONIGHT. 8:30pm SHARP
THE PITY PARTY opens for EARLIMART
    @ THE ECHOPLEX
    $7

hope to see some familiar faces there.
don’t go to the jensen rec center on accident.

No surprise. Amy Winehouse Postpones Fall North American Tour which includes the Sept 18 & 19 Wiltern dates.

Anyone know anything about tonight’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs show? What time they go on, if there’s an opening band, etc.? Should be pretty great — Nick Zinner remains pretty much the finest guitarist working today.

Detour festival is six weeks away and still no lineup? God, it must really suck.

  14. Posted by Jenn 8/23/07 at 9:18 am # Reply

If you mean by “suck” in that they’re so confident the line-up will appeal to the general masses that they don’t need all the time to market the event leading up to the date because they’ve got big acts lined up like Foo Fighters or Linkin Park or some other KROQ-playlisted band and will sell out easily, then yeah I may agree with you on that.

Y’all are probably on top of this already, but you can get Joanna Newsom tickets online starting today.

Turns out Bob Smith postponed all his shows, including Santa Barbara & the Hollywood Bowl till Spring of next year.
