Alright then. This one should have ran back with favorite music stuff of ’09, but Victor took forever to put together a list. Better late then never. You know the drill, vote from above and/or stick your own suggestions in the comments. I’m sure there are some we left out. –Ed.
The excellent Adventureland came and went quickly and quietly this year. Or maybe everyone knows about it and I’m late to it. Not a “Best Picture” type, but a little gem that will be (re)discovered down the road. Soundtrack of the year as well.
My vote for soundtrack of 2009 (though it’s not available for sale) is “Peter and Vandy”. It’s the indier version, both filmmaking and musically, of (500) Days of Summer.
Do not be fooled by the temptress that is Zooey Deschanel, my fellow Angelenos!

i’m a fan of zooey but 500 days of summer was so pretentious, i watched it the 2nd time on a plane and it was tough to sit through again. bad.
