Dodgers Change Team Logo to Red Cross

I always thought Dodger Fever was a cute marketing slogan aimed at boosting fan morale. Apparently, it’s a crippling condition that lands players on the disabled list. And it’s contagious.

another injuryWhile warming up for a crucial seventh-inning situation last night, Dodgers reliever Kelly Wunsch sprained his right ankle. That’s right, he didn’t even manage to make it out of the bullpen before injuring himself.

And of course the pitcher called on in Wunsch’s place, Franquelis Osoria, gives up the game-winning home run on his second pitch to a struggling player on the National League’s worst team.

Even though half of LA’s opening day position players are on the DL, the Dodgers are miraculously only five and a half games out of first in the NL West. This is due in large part to the general shittiness of the entire division.

In related news, the Patron Saint of Dodger Injuries, Darren Dreifort, continues to collect an $11M+ salary even though he hasn’t started a game since 2003. Thankfully, his contract is up after this season which will free up another handicap parking space at Chavez Ravine.
