By Ryan - Tuesday January 02nd 2007

Youngwood Court

TINSELTOWN (Losanjealous) ::: Losanjealous has learned from its network of informants that Norwood Young, proprietor and resident-in-chief of Hancock Park’s notorious Youngwood Court (also affectionately dubbed the House of David™s by city residents), will be prominently featured in an E! reality series titled “High Maintenance 90210″…

From the official cast bio page:

Brian Armstrong
Position: Butler to the stars
Domestic Cred: The Remains of the Day inspired Brian to study abroad in a two-year butler program, and his parents are baffled by their son’s desire to be a servant. He remains unflappable, though, no matter how bizarre the duties may get.
Household Wisdom: “My goal is to one day work at the White House, and, in that way, serve my country.”

Norwood Young
Position: Music producer in need of a do-anything butler
Domestic Cred: Young lives in one of the most notorious homes in L.A., known for nude statues in the front yard. The swimming pool floor even features a mosaic portrait of his likeness.
Household Wisdom: “How are you with kids? Because I have two kids. This is Divo and this is Diva. Make sure [the poodles are] brushed and fed each day. Can you handle that?”

But not much is known about the house’s owner–until now, that is, as Losanjealous notes the following cast bio on the site for a new E! reality show already guilty of flagrant false-zip-code-advertising, High Maintenance 90210: Norwood Young [...]

I’ve got a new post on Norwood Young up at LA Stories (follow the link on my name)

    A) This house looks like a dump when it’s not shot on HD with saturation pumped up in post production.

    B) Who is this clown, Norwood? Nobody’s been making money in the record business for nine years.

I’ve decided that I will interview Norwood, I think I may even just go to his house with a camera and tape recorder and knock on the door.

I live in the neighborhood and have always been curious about the house. After seeing the show I went careening toward the web determined to find out who this guy is and what childhood trauma compels him to bedazzle those goblets. I found a bunch of sites referring to him as the former lead singer of the group Pieces of a Dream. However, when I searched Pieces of a Dream I found no reference to Norwood Young. But, then I ran across a site (musicstack.com) that sells vinyl and apparently over 30 people in the Netherlands and the UK are trying to unload Norwood’s, 80’s hit single, I Can’t Let You Go. (Norwood Young/ Pieces of a Dream, Produced By Mckinley Horton)

Which lead me to… eBay and a 12 inch single with a pre-extreme makeover mug shot. Buy it Now Price: $4.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/Norwood-I-Cant-Let-You-Go-12-US-single_W0QQitemZ4877882133QQcmdZViewItem

Norwood released an album in 1987 and was the leadsinger of Pieces of dream’s 1990 album ‘Bout that time.
He also played in various Broadway shows and for a while worked in Germany, starring in in a rock version of Bizet’s “Carmen” and later even opened his own club there.
The Pieces of dream album was recorded after he moved back to the US.
I think he only did this one album with Pieces of a dream and went back to musicals after that.
Norwood recently recorded and released a second solo album called “Just Norwood” that I think is his best work yet.

I think norwood got all his money from sleeping with men in hollywood that are on the downlow and I think he had a serious relationship with singer luther vandross before he passed. and he stills dates gay men in hollywood married, white, black straight…………
