Ode to Cuchi Cuchi

By The Commodore: Shane - Wednesday March 28th 2007

cuchi cuchi no more

You sat there, and waited.
When were we going to try it? Maybe tomorrow.
You sat there, and waited.
The leaves turned green to brown then back to green again.
You sat there, and waited.
We’d look up at the sign and chuckle about future memories.

You waited no more.

Good bye Cuchi Cuchi, you waited patiently for us on the corner of Hollywood and Edgemont, but we took for granted the fickle nature that is fine dining in Los Angeles. You will be missed.

A moment of silence please.

I used to chuckle at the Cuchi Cuchi sign every day on my way to work. Alas, I shall chuckle no more.

I guess I’ll never know what it’s like to eat cuchi cuchi.
