Dengue Fever Introduce Southland to Giant Dong This Weekend

The unique double-necked instrument in the photo above was created for Dengue Fever guitarist Zac Holtzman and is a combination of a Fender Jazzmaster and a Chapai Dong Veng, a traditional Cambodian two-stringed guitar.
Through online fan contests held by Mojo Magazine and Dengue Fever’s Facebook page, the hybrid instrument was officially dubbed The Mastadong.
The Mastadong will be on display all weekend at NAMM at the A&S Case Company Booth #6288 (Hall A), except on Saturday from 2pm-1AM when it will be at The Guitar Geek Festival.

Fender Corona Guitar Factory Featured in Times

Nice piece on Fender in today’s Times Business section. A visit to the Corona manufacturing plant has all kinds of guitar nerd details. I do, however, wish that the writer would have probed them a bit more on the wide disparities between the Corona-made and Mexican-made models. If you want to kill some time, check out our Fender Jazzmaster archive which we have been told is one of the biggest online collection of shots of active artists using the popular guitar with the patented offset body.
