HighSnobiety.com has the press release from yesterday’s event at The Forum:
Nike and Kobe Bryant today introduced the Zoom Kobe V, Nike’s lightest basketball shoe ever, at a global media event held at The L.A. Forum in Los Angeles. Wow, those are some pretty sweet looking kicks. As long as he is faithful to his wife, I will continue to purchase the products which he endorses.
It’s goin’ down! It’s Kobe time again! In low tops he is going to dominate every player that he guards or tries to guard him. I just finally got my ZK4 gradient black\purple shoes and I will probably get the ZKV sometime next year too.
I do wonder why more NBA players aren’t doing the low tops thing themselves today. Can’t be just Kobe that has the science on this. The quick cuts in soccer analogy makes sense. Or is it that grass and spikes make a more forgiving impact than hardwood, thus less ankle injuries?
when you have trainers wrapping your ankles tight before each game, high-tops may be somewhat redundant. although when you roll your ankle on someone’s foot no shoe really helps. don’t know if soccer is the best analogy, plenty of football players wear high-tops.
purple …
great
Kanye may have, even by his standards, had a rough PR year, but no one probably had a bigger impact on sneakers in ’09.
