We’re sure you all you know this already, but just in case, as a PSA–tonight’s Guy Fieri Roadshow has bumped from Gibson Amphitheater to cozy confines of The Wiltern.
No word on what this might mean for purchasers of “Off Da Hook” or “Kulinary Krew” ticket packages, which were to include either a seat on stage or in the first few rows, respectively. Presumably, you will still receive the below items as part of your package:
- Tour Laminate
- A copy of Guy’s More Diners, Drive-ins and Dives: A Drop Top Culinary Cruise Through America’s Finest and Funkiest Joints
- 2 Squirt Bottles
- Pre-Show Meet and Greet
If for some reason you cannot make the show, Guy Fieri brand squirt bottles are available at the Food Network online store ($9.95/2-pack).

Bad news, guys — Guy Fieri brand squirt bottles are OUT OF STOCK at the Food Network online store. Adjust your holiday shopping lists accordingly.
wristsbands, aprons and sweet chef knives still totally available.

Hoping they don’t tell Guy until the last minute tonight, ‘cuz just think of all the fine and funky joints he could check out in the droptop as he cruises over the hill from Gibsoversal City to K-town! His mind and palette would be blown and we would all be entertained with each and every questionably-sized bite.
Maybe he can swing by Polka in Eagle Rock on the way down there. His stop at our Polish joint made for one of the more uncomfortable segments on his lousy show. One bad idiomatic English joke after another failing to connect with their sweet owner. Then again Polka was an odd choice give that it is neither diner, drive-thru nor dive.
…but is it fine or funky?
^ I’ve been and I’d call it both fine and funky. But pretty much it’s just Polish. Wonder if those LA Bizarro guys got the chance to venture out of Mission Hills and check it out… where’s that book…

Laugh but I do find this guy incredibly watchable. He gets a great satisfied look on his face after he eats the first bite of (insert whatever huell howser-worthy food item here) … which almost makes you want to forgive him for poking around the kitchen questioning the logic of some cook’s time-honored recipe like a know-it-all and hassling the locals out for brunch. The hair, oakleys and whatnot are all just the sorts of things that help teach patience.
Watchable, perhaps if the audio is muted. The only way I can tolerate his show is by taking a shot of onion/garlic/pepper infused vodka every time he refers to a protein as ‘this bad boy.’
I was first tuned into Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on a trip to Portland for my birthday. I
love greasy spoons so we made our way over to the Byways Cafe (yummy yummy). From then I was
hooked, we’ve been on a couple trips so far like Utah and Chicago which was awesome! Plan on
hitting up a few more soon.
