Chris Nichols presents The Leisure Architecture of Wayne McAllister
He gave Big Boys, the Rat Pack, and Hollywood royalty stylish places to swing. This leader of the Googie style of architecture designed some of the most iconic spaces in L.A. and Vegas: Bob’s Big Boy, Pig ’n Whistle, The Biltmore Bowl and The Sands. Wayne McAllister embraced the burgeoning car and celebrity cultures of the West and changed the landscape accordingly.

A Brief History Of Mine @ Fake Gallery
Steven Hawking’s one man show as imagined by Andrew Lasken. This all singin’ all dancin’ extravaganza promises to bring out the quadraplegic in all of us. Come for an exclusive sneak preview of a harrowing tale of a man who set out to solve the mysteries of the universe, and ended up learning a few things about himself along the way.

Kid n’ Play @ Lab 101 Gallery
New paintings and kid-friendly installation by Sam Flores. Through Wed 6/6.

Psychobotany @ Machine Project
Visitors will be able to participate in the classic science experiment where two identical tomato plants live or die based on our positive or negative thoughts. Presented by the Center for Tactical Magic, this telepathic struggle will be accompanied by a performance lecture exploring plants’ roles as purveyors of knowledge, from Moses’ consultation with a burning bush to the Pentagon’s recent development of “sentinel plants”.
