New Signage to Help Disappointed Tourists Navigate Downtown

Los Angeles recently began installing 1,300 icon-based signs around Downtown to help pedestrians and motorists find their way around 13 unique districts. The project, named Downtown LA Walks, is designed to promote walking (read spending) and presumably to legitimize the area as a viable tourist trap.
The list of destinations sure to let down out-of-towners includes the LA Mall, the Little Tokyo Lofts and the Felix Chevrolet car dealership. LAPD’s Central Division and the California Hospital Medical Center are also featured destinations in case anyone runs into trouble after dark.
Downtown LA Walks, at a cost of over $2 million, is currently scheduled for completion in September. It is unclear whether the redhead and asian Laker girls will be available for the completion ceremony.

Is this happening in the Simpsons’ fictional Springfield or our real Los Angeles? What’s next for us, a monorail? Putting these signs around Downtown is like putting a bow in the hair of a coma patient. The $2 mil would serve downtown much better by putting it towards homeless resources.
possibly they can offset some of that $2mil if they get these guys to co-sponsor the jewelry district sign…
